Car Parks are the major recipients of driving surface coatings on concrete.

Concrete bridge decks, access ramps and similar may also need non-slip protective driving surfaces.

The predominant use of such coatings has been as corrosion protection and skid-resistant surfaces on steel bridge decks - of which ROADCOAT has installed over 1,000,000 m² since 1962.

Most have been on fast-erect, prefabricated orthotropic fly-over bridges.

NATO, in 1975-76, tested the performance of 1.5 mm driving surfaces on steel and aluminium pontoon bridges. After 9,600 passes of a 50t Leopard Tank the ROADCOAT was still performing the intended purpose and was chosen as the standard driving surface.

Long term road bridge in-use testing by the German Road Research Institute (BAST) again shows ROADCOAT to be the best "thin driving surface on steel."
